There is a free house or two in Bozeman if moving that one proves successful for you👍

Texston, a plaster company in California has many products that can be used in showers.   Only problem is cracks,. Asthetically speaking.  Should still be water proof under the cracks in the finish with a good water proof base.

Hello.   Lath and plaster cracks even not in earthquake country.  You could have a drywall finisher tape all of them and texture or skim the walls and I bet 90% of them wouldn't come back.  Paint might hide alot of the super thin ones.  I would fix just the worst bigger cracks (ones that are gapped or offset that you can feel with your finger) and paint.  Then fix any that show thru paint or come back in a few years.  Best advice I got without actually seeing the cracks.  You used the word multiple so maybe it's not so bad.  Most old lath and plaster houses I would use the phrase " the cracks are everywhere". :)

Bozeman is surrounded by Fly fishing, skiing, camping, wildlife, not very many people...yet.  it's clean and people are nice.  Shhh don't tell anyone.  :). Gardiner is alittle off the beaten path but nice and very small.

There are sound clips you can get that the resilient hat channel will attach to.  They have a piece of rubber which goes against the wood.  They also make sound proof sheetrock...quietrock...kindof expensive though.  I do feel that insulation helps a bunch,  they say that noise travels through the stud or joist.  we framed a wall with 2x8 base and top plates and used 2x6s staggered on each side of the wall so sheetrock on both sides of the wall didn't connect if that makes sense.  it worked great!  k

Hmmm.  I think a drywall finisher or plasterer will have just as much time taping and finishing the newly hung sheetrock as they would putting a texture or a coat of mud to be sanded smooth over the old plaster.  Plus you will have to pay for sheetrock and sheetrock hangers.  I would skim walls out unless the old plaster is really bad.  A drywall contractors could probably give you a sq/ft price for hanging/taping versus coating walls and sanding.

Skim over plaster means to put a coat of drywall "mud" or compound over all the walls to smooth out any old crappy plaster texture and repaint.  👍

If you use square trim you could stand the sheets of drywall up vertically, fire tape joints with self adhesive fire tape and cover joints with a 1" X 10" or 12" board similar to trim.  Then you would just have to spots screws and paint.  You would still have to finish ceilings I suppose.

If it's a large project and those are the only two spots the painter might be capable of fixing them.  Sometimes they don't like doing drywall work tho because their quality might not be up to par because it's not what they do everyday.  You tube will show you if you wanna do it yourself👍
