Hello,
I recently moved from Denver, CO where I purchased a few homes at foreclosure auctions. So, I am not a complete stranger to auctions, but Colorado had a public trustee system and finding reliable information on what properties were going to auction in a given week and the results of each auction was as simple as going to the county website.
I would like to start purchasing at auction in King County, WA and am finding it difficult to figure out where I can find a list of properties coming to auction each week and their starting bid. I called county offices trying to get this information and they seemed clueless. I also spoke to a title company and got some answers but again, no list of properties going to auction on a given week. In Colorado you could get publications announcing that a property has been foreclosed upon and an auction sale date, but the properties rarely went to auction on the given date; for the actual auctions happening in a given week I had to to go to the county website.
I did find some of this information on the John L. Scott website, but am put off by the Buyer Brokerage agreement you have to agree to before perusing their listings. Am I to understand that if I purchase one of the properties listed on their site on my own, I am still obligated to pay them a 3% brokerage fee?
I’m also skeptical of these auction.com and usa-auction sites providing accurate information.
Furthermore, is there a source where I can view the results of the trustee auctions?
Any information or links you have would be much appreciated!
Thank you!
