Hi Colleen - even if the plot is zoned for a 3 family and the land use is "as of right" I'm pretty sure you'd need approval from the BPDA to build. At some point a community meeting would take place in this review process. http://www.bostonplans.org/projects/development-review

@Evan Polaski it's in my name

I have a considerable amount of equity in the 3 family I own. I am wondering if there are any other programs/products out there that would allow me to pull that equity out without having to refinance? I heard that it's not common for banks to let you take out a HELOC against investment property. I do not owner occupy it.

Thanks all - I'm mostly interested in seeing if anyone has seen positive cash flow from the area. I'll be attending the meet up and will have some questions prepared @James E.

@Michael Pallotta yes, I've been mailing to the area for about a year now with some good outcomes.  Still looking to make a deal.  I should mention I'm a new agent too.
