Thanks,

Nice to meet everyone! I'm a real estate investor looking to connect with anyone that is serious about out-of-state-investing. I started reading David Greene's book on out-of-state-investing and am super excited to start my journey.

My goal is to create a real estate investing group with people that are in the same boat as me! I'm also looking to join real estate investing group if anyone knows any!

About me

-Software Engineer

-Been a property manager for 4 years

-Own 1 property

-Excited to purchase first out-of-state property (If you're also looking for real estate investor, lets connect!)

If you're also starting out-of-state investing, lets connect! I would love to brainstorm ideas together. I'm located in the Bay Area, but always happy to meet virtually!

Quote from @Alicia Marks:

I've seen properties that fit that in Wichita Falls, but I honestly would not touch anything in that area. There are too many tenant issues (drugs, crime, general low quality applicants) plus little to no appreciation. Especially not being accessible when there are issues makes it even more of a struggle. Property manager that are good quality are much less likely to take on those kinds of properties because they know it's not worth their time.

Thanks Alicia for the insight! I'm thinking I'll need to increase my price range for better return on investment.

Quote from @Bruce Lynn:

@Danny Yeap  Try realtor.com...but honestly there are likely not any $50,000 properties you want.   There could be an occasional lot at $50,000, but you have to be very careful with those.  You want utilities, no flood zone, buildable, etc.   So many of the lots we see in that price range have issues.

Many of my searches include areas outside of the main DFW metroplex and it is still pretty rare 1-2-3 hours away that I see anything except for maybe an old mobile home or 100year old house that needs everything redone in the $50-$75,000 price range.

Hi Bruce! Thanks for the insight! I'm thinking maybe 50,000 is too aggressively low. I'll take a look around to see what are property are available are higher range

Quote from @Lucia Rushton:

@Danny Yeap what are you thinking you will acquire for $50K in this market ? Are you wanting a major rehab or turn key property ? Are you paying cash or financing ?

Hi Lucia! I thinking of smaller rehab and about financing. Open to a lot of different options. I'd like to get a feel of the area before getting into out of state investing

Quote from @Andrew Garcia:

Hi @Danny Yeap, har.com is a popular website.

If you go to the "Network" tab and click on "Members", you can search for Dallas.

Then, you can find property managers and investors.

Hope this helps! Let me know if I can be of any assistance.

Thanks Andrew! I will check out the website!

Hi Everyone,

It's my first time posting on BP.  I'm considering investing in Dallas, TX. Does anyone know any websites or other methods to find good deals on property? I've mostly been using Zillow and looking at the data that way. I've also heard people buy property for less than 50K, which is really awesome! Looking to connect with property managers with real estate investing experience in Dallas as well!
