Post: Help! What is considered a good quote for property insurance?

I am purchasing my first investment property and am in the closing property. I purchased a property at $80,000. What would be considered a good deal for insurance? I am attaching the offer the options they shared. I feel that the deductible seems high for such a low value property? Am i wrong? Should I look elsewhere?

There’s a property I’m cosidnering purchasing. It has a tenant for the next year and a half. I’ve calculated for various annual expenses such as cap-ex ($800), R$M ($800), vacancy 5%,, etc. it’s built 2014. In a decent area (3/5) with job growth and rent growth guaranteed. I will make back investment in less than 5 years. However, after all expenses the cash flow is low. Is this worth it? It’s my first investment and I fell this is the best deal I’ve found.

I’m in NYC. Living in Manhattan. I have been reading books, going back and fourth about investing. I’m struggling as to where I want to buy and making that first leap. I have money for a down payment and still saving. I have excellent credit and make a good income. I’m looking to buy an investment property outside of NY because it is so out of this world expensive here. Is there anyone out there that’s willing to chat, text, or meet for coffee/lunch (on me) and give me some advice so I can just get going. I’m excited to begin this journey and just need some concrete words of wisdom so that I can make the leap. Any help will be great.

Thank you @Brian Adzadi for your honesty. I agree. I am currently speaking with agents in Orlando and Connecticut. I will definitely look into Pennsylvania. Thank you

@Tom Ott . I have looked into Turnkey Investments. Do you have any particular companies that you have had success with. I looked into HomeUnion and Rootstock. I don't love Rootstock properties but they have less fees that HomeUnion. Home union appears to be overpriced. Neither company has had good communication.

@George Skidis Thank you for the recommendations. I will definitely keep my eyes open.

@Steve Kontos I would love to Join you on Thursday. Where is this meet up?

@Sam Alomari I will definitely work on that. Thanks for your advice. I haven't liked turnkey companies so far.

@Jeffrey Nordin I agree with them all too.

If anyone knows anyone that could me out please connect to the thread. I have found some nice people but I would prefer to get advice from someone who is in similar circumstances as I am and has found success in out of state markets.

I am trying to buy my first investment property. I don’t own a property yet but have been doing tons of research. BP has helped so much. However, I’m struggling to make a decision as to where to start? I live in NYC but real estate is very expensive here and don’t feel comfortable starting with such high value property. What are other NYC investors doing? What has worked? Please help.

Thanks @James Thomas Nakashian. I will definitely take you up on that offer. Have you heard or know anyone who has purchased with HomeUnion or Rootstock? I have been researching them as well, keep my options open.

I want to purchase my first property. I have a full time job so I don't need the money but have always been fascinated with the idea of flipping properties and renting them. I want to purchase my first property and would like to start in the perhaps the Bronx or Brooklyn. Any advice?

I'm looking to connect with and network with members who have similar interests.
