Do you know what how far the PSI normally drops and about where it should remain until I physically release the air?

Hello all. Thanks for response. I have not drywalled yet.

I talked to the county building inspector and he said it was to code. (Doesn’t sit right with me that small leaks are acceptable).

I may have fixed the problem I will know later on today when I head out there.

I pumped it up to 15 PSI and it held all day yesterday (atleast 12 hours). Code is 15 PSI for 15 minutes.

Hello. I am building a new house and the plumbers installed the gasline and the gauge drops down about 3/4 PSI a day. The company says that it only needs to hold 15 PSI for 15 minutes to pass inspection. (It does).

That doesn’t sit well with me that it drops slowly. But then I am a perfectionist and would like someone else’s opinion.

I understand the PSI fluctuates with outside temperature and I have only been able to stop by in the evenings.

About what PSI is normal for it to remain throughout phase of construction?

Is this acceptable? I don’t just mean to pass inspection. I want a solid gas line. Should I call out  another plumbing company?

Thanks.

Thank you everyone for your input!!

Not sure how to reply specifically to anyone... Michael Lueng that was my concern exactly. Thank you! I am going to remove it and loop it back. I clicked on your name... not sure what I did or sent but it said I was sending something. Thanks again!

Charles, I want to just remove the softener but leave the copper plumbing.

So I assume I will need to remove the PVC pipe and loop the 3/4" copper lines back together? The inline shut off valve is in the off position.

I wasn't aware of there being a bypass inside the WS. So I would not be able to just remove WS and leave all copper hanging?

Thanks!

Yes. It has its own shut off. Valve is off (no water flowing to WS) and hasn't effected the rest of the house. Thanks.

Getting ready to sell a house in Tucson, AZ. The water softener does not work. I do not want to repair the water softener. If I just remove the water softener and plug the threaded end (where it hooks up to water pipe will that be up to code? Does not leak with shutoff valve on off.

I don't have any other plumbing issues so I don't really want to call out a plumber if I don't too!

Thanks!

I'm in the process of doing the same thing in AZ. And depending how many times I divide the lot I will have to run sewer and all utilities to each lot.

I have two half acres of multi-family. I can only split them each once or I will have to run all utilities, sewer, pave and jump through a ton of other hoops.
