Hello,

I was wondering if there are any wholesalers in the fort worth area that would be willing to help me out and show me the ropes a little. I've done tons of reading, listening to podcast etc and know the just of it. I've always been hesitant to pull the trigger and really go for it. Luckily for me since covid hit my job has gone to remote working permanently. Which has given me alot more free time. I see this as the prefect time to go after wholesaling. While I understand how it works, I'm needing some direction as far as how to do a contract, how and where to get leads etc.. if anyone is willing to give me a hand I would split my first deal with you 50/50.. thanks in advance

Hello,

My wife and I would like to purchase a out of state vacation condo rental, to use as a investment and to use for family vacations.. we have been looking at mrytle beach and gulf shores locations.. depending on the location and size we could pay for a unit cash but may need to have a portion financed. Just looking for any advice from anyone who does out of state vacation rentals. How did you go about financing, how did you find a property manager or do you manage yourself, how has your experience been, has it been cash flow positive? We are aware it can be difficult to manage out of state properties, especially with high turnaround of renters and also the HOA fees.. any advice or challenges you can recommend to avoid is greatly appreciated

@Cara Bullock hello.. I know this is a older thread. I'm currently looking into purchasing a condo in Myrtle beach, are you a property manager?

Hey Bigger pockets.. seeking a little advice here. I have been studying up on real estate investing for the past 7 or 8 years. Talking to whoever I can, reading, asking questions on here etc.. I have been putting money back the last couple years in hopes of beginning my real estate investing journey soon.. I currently have about 35k put back.. with that said, unfortunately my mother passed away 5 months ago. My mother left her home which is paid off to my brother and I. The house is in a bad area and needs a ton of work. Talking 40 to 50k. I have had a couple investors come look at the house and have received offers of 53k and 65k cash as is.. My brother wants no part of keeping the house or trying to do any repairs. I gave some thought of maybe buying him out for 30k, but this would take all of my savings and leave me no money to repair the home.. I'm also a little hesitant to try and do such a big project my first go around.. is it in my best interest just to sell home to best offer and add the money to my current savings and begin my REI with close to 70k? What would you guys/gals do in my shoes?

@Joe Scaparra

Thanks so much for the advice. Since making this post indeed have decided to sell my home. The profit was too good to pass up. The profit from the sale along with the 60k I saved will give me some options.. I agree with you on the duplex, that is my goal and look almost everyday for one.. I am currently in process of buying our next home but will still have 60 to 70k to throw on a duplex if I can find one.. do you have any advice on location or price point is good for a first time investor? I do see a few out there but typically I'd pretty rough parts of town. Is that something you would why away from?

How would you start your real estate investing with 60k?

I've been wanting to begin my real estate investing journey for about 10 years.. I'm currently in a position to do so and looking for some input/guidance.

My situation,

I have about 60-70k to work with. Im in the fort worth Texas area. I currently have a home with a mortgage that has about 80k in equity. Aside from the 60-70k I'm wanting to work with. My family has grown considerably the past few years so we are in the market for a bigger home.. I'm considering refinancing my current home and using this property as my first rental property.. I then would like to use the 60-70k to invest in additional rental properties.. just wondering what your thoughts would be on what type of properties.. Sfh or multi family? Could 70k bring in more than 1 property? In a perfect world I'd like to use my current home as a rental and invest in 2 or maybe 3 additional properties. Maybe a Sfh and a multi family, just not sure if that possible.. Any insights on this would be great.. Thanks
