Post: Asbestos in plaster (Florida)

Hello,

I am in negotiation for buying a multi-family building that is constructed in 1957 and the interior is plaster. It is well known that plaster in buildings between 1940 and 1980 is very likely to contain asbestos. My question is should I take samples for lab tests and what if the result is positive? Will you buy a building if there is asbestos presented in walls/floors/ceilings? Is there any law in Florida regarding this?

Thank you in advance for your help
