Ah, so I was right to run screaming from that room! ;)

Thanks for confirming my suspicions.

Hello all,

I am thoroughly enjoying the wealth of advice and information available on this site. I've truly had my eyes opened to the opportunities available!

What are your thoughts on taking an investor training coarse? I went to one of those two hour seminars where they were trying to get you to take their 3 day coarse. "A value at $6000, but if you sign up tonight it's only $3000!"

It had the distinct aroma of snake oil.

Am I overly cautious? Is this a reasonable price for investor training? Are there any preferred training organizations? What have you all done when it comes to training?

Thanks in advance.

Hello, my name is Daniel Phillips. I am an engineering contractor in the aerospace and automotive industries who is looking for an exit strategy. I am hopeful that I have found it in real estate. I don't have a lot of experience in this arena; I have a rental house about 200 miles from where I currently live mostly because I moved with the job and owed too much on the house to sell it. Despite the distance this rental arrangement has worked out well and, I guess you could say, "wet my whistle" for the opportunities available in real estate. I look forward to exploring this new path and also meeting and getting to know many of you on this site.

Thanks!
