Melanie,
To correct your statement, I think you meant to say "Sounds like you are someone new in the game, and wanting to know how things work, and have a better understanding of real estate and real estate deals. This is great place to start."

If you plan to contribute, please by all means contribute in a positive way. Better than to assume something I'm doing something "illegal."

Don't have time for foolishness.

Thank you!

So question is: When you are going into a deal, and have an investor helping you, when paying them back what they put in for you, what percent interest are you paying them back at? I know this must be a silly question, but what has been everyone else's experience in playing back an investor that went in on a deal with you.

Depends on deal structure and risk. Are they equity or debt? The answer varies and is between 7-20%.

If you can explain further on what it means if they are Equity or debt, so I may better understand, and expand my knowledge as well.

Thanks Chris Seveney

Hello BP Community!

My name is Dane Stewart. And have decided to jump in and learn the ways of real estate. I have been circling on getting serious with it, and I believe the time Is now. I have some bit of knowledge of real estate, as I did go to real estate school, and also my mother has been a real estate agent for many years in Columbus, Georgia. IM interested in Short term rentals, and Multifamily properties. I hope to gain the knowledge from the community, and to also partner up with you all was well.

Thank you all!

See you all very soon.

Nice to meet you! This post is a great next step to get started. Knowledge plus action equals outcomes. I would suggest you also connect with other local investors who are doing what you want to be doing. There are some great meetups here in the Orlando area. What kind of investing are you specifically looking to do?

I like the Short term rentals(AirBNB), and I like the Multi-family as well. That's what I'm setting my sites on.

Welcome to BP and your REI venture! Looks like you are in Olrando. We have a very active investor community here with many meet-ups. I am on the board of CFRI, the local chapter of the National REIA and we have our general meeting tonight if you can make it. If not, we have several other meet ups throughout the month. It would be a great place to network with others, it is all non profit and we have all levels of investors so its not intimidating at all. We are all there to learn and grow.

If you are interested, I can get a guest pass for you, just PM me.

Best of luck!

 Thanks Shawn! Much appreciated!
