I am primarily looking in the D.C/Maryland Area (but open to anywhere that makes sense). I have heard mixed reviews on getting into Tax Liens, but I already have fallen in love with the idea.

Looking for any advice and/or books for what to look for when it comes to attending these auctions and what the "real" side of investing in liens really is.

Anything helps!

A stratagy that I have been using lately and should work out is using a Roth IRA and placing my savings there. In the conditions of a Roth you can pull the invested money out TAX FREE with its interest on the purchase of your first home. I've been reading up on the conditions of this and it all makes sense and is legal. If anyone else has used this strategy I'd love to hear how it went and any tips! @Derek Meyer

Post: The Beginnings of Wholesale

Hello all in the BP Community, and happy Tuesday!

I am a fairly new investor that is looking to begin my real estate journey this year. After considering my financial situation and what I will be able to afford  I have decided that Whole Sale may be one of the better routes to take to get my investment career started (then eventually venture out to passive rentals)

With that being said, I am eager/curious on the process of becoming a successful wholesaler. Of course I have done my due diligences in researching and  finding as much information as I could on how to get started, but I find that communicating on the forums makes for a more reliable and personable response.

I am partnering with two of my bestfriends/ roommates from college to get our Wholesale organization kicked off and plan on operating in Maryland, Eastern and Western PA, and Reno, NV. We are hungry for success and have a solid foundation for how we want to succeed.

For individuals on BP that are/were in the WS game, what is the most important aspect for success in WS and how do we make sure we have it consistently? What are some good sources to have when trying to find buyers and sellers? ( I have a lot of questions but I will keep this short) A

Any type of advice that can be offered is greatly appreciated and I hope for everyone to succeed and have a great week!

Hello all, I am Damon Lloyd and I reside in Baltimore, MD. I am fairly new to the real estate investment game (studying for the past two months).
I have some knowledge of the area and I can see the potential of buying, renovating (minimal if possible), and renting properties in Baltimore.

My reason of writing this post is this: Do banks commonly loan out for inner-city properties for investment purposes? I am not sure about how banks view city properties and lending out to certain areas. ALSO, for investors that are currently in Maryland, I would love to network and form a relationship!

Thank you all for the help, Damon
