Thanks Percy. I will look for it. I am aware there are state and federal programs to help subsidize the cost of purchasing affordable housing units.

I recently retired from the nonprofit sector and providing affordable housing in Santa Clarita is a goal of mine. I want to build my real estate business so I can cash flow the purchase of an apartment building to house single moms who are full time students living in our area. I am on a huge learning curve, but I have the time and resources to make this goal a reality. I also have a great team when I am ready to invest. I am anxious to grow in my knowledge at Bigger Pockets!

Sorry, I replied to the wrong person. Alan, we are going to buy and hold initially, but may flip in the future. We are still getting our feet wet, so to speak.

My husband Bob and I entered the realm of real estate investing this year. We are considering making this a part time focus until Bob retires in five years, at which time we will most likely make it a full time endeavor. I am interested in learning all I can from those who are experts in this area so we don't fall into the traps other landlords have. I look forward to this community.

Best Regards,

DaAnne "Dee" Smith
