Has anyone had experience with Quest SDIRA? They were referred by another investor and seemed very knowledgeable and easy to work with when I spoke to them on the phone. They only specialize in RE investments which I kind of like.

Amy Zemser I watched the webinar then made my wife watch it for a second opinion. We’re intrigued but still not 100% sure. I’d love someone to chime in who’s actually DONE the program and not just watched the presentation. I agree there’s definitely a guru feel to it but I can get past all that if it’s good content. I agree with an earlier comment that a lot of this stuff can be found on YouTube for free but I’d be more than happy to pay $1000 to have all the appropriate tools needed to succeed wrapped up in one little package and tell you not what NOT to do that could cost you thousands more. Thanks for posting the question and I’ll be sure to follow the thread for feedback on the actual course!

Hey everyone,

This may be cheating because I did a new member introduction when I joined the site some time back.  Since then my family has moved to Charleston, SC from Lexington, KY, and I recently became an licensed real estate agent.  So for those two big changes I figured it was worth another introduction!

Definitely interested in networking with other investors and/or agent investors interested in the Charleston area as I ramp up my real estate business. I'd be curious to know if there are any good REIA's in the area and when/where they are, as well as any other networking opportunities going on in the Low Country.

Look forward to hearing from you all soon!

Derek

@Lance Johnson  @Paul Timmins @Aaron Montague :

Guys, thank you so much for information. I'm still green around the ears in this REI thing so it's great to get this kind of information from those who 'do'. I'll keep you all posted if I find some properties that would work for us. It's always great to bounce the numbers off people who've been there so I appreciate the offers to help crunch them.

Hey everybody. Making a move to do a different city/state soon for new job and contemplating looking at buying a duplex/triplex my family and I could also live in for the first year until we get more familiar with the area to buy another single-family. I'm a newbie in REI so thought this would be a way to get started then have an income property after we buy another single-family.

Two questions:

1. What's a good formula to evaluate such properties?

2. Being new to an area, what's the best way to find these properties?

Thanks!

Hey Clifton,

Welcome to the site! Like you I'm a Lexington resident, new to REI, and new to bp. Everyone on here is great and more than willing to answer questions you may have. I would definitely recommend diving into the forums and blogs for anything you have questions about. There hasn't been a topic yet I haven't found some info on here about!

Not sure if you have already but they have a great podcast too that has had a ton of great guests on it out there really making it happen.

I'm meeting with a couple of local investors I'm friends with next week so I'll keep you posted of any networking opportunities they may know about here in the area. I know of a REIA group that meets every fourth Tuesday so hoping to to find out more info from them on that as well.

Anyway, welcome again and let's stay in touch!
