Are there still meet ups in Greenville, NC?

Yes it’s very sad I work in the medical field and see this a lot homelessness in the elderly is rising. There aren’t the safety net you think are there. Her only other option is a nursing home and she would have to apply for Medicaid. Many people dump them off at the ER and the social workers figure it out. People with mental illness have it much worse. In our profile making society there are many cracks. There aren’t alot of answers even the social service agencies haven’t figured it out.

We are relocating to the Greenville area and with the price of housing so high we wanted to build a house with a mother in law suite and do like our own house hack setup long term. This will be our forever home. Which areas of new construction are going up that’s the next up and coming area in and around Greenville, NC?

@Nicholas Sheridan, Jr.

What mistakes did you make and what would you do differently?

Hello everyone!

I am looking to network with other investors or investors/agents within the Virginia Beach/Norfolk area. We currently sold off a few properties and eventually want to resettle in that area in our retirement years. We do have family there but they are not investors.

I am looking to network with people locally that know that area and learn more about it and what areas we may want to focus on.
We are sort of open to new opportunities. Keeping an open mind. So far we have been mostly buy and hold residential both domestic and international.

Touch base me would love to chat about the area and learn more.

Post: Estimation costs for Renovations ?

Does anyone have any good ideas about how to more accurately estimate the costs of rehabbing or renovating a property?

@Robert Collins

I think as mentioned about war zones you truly have to define that. I have been overseas working in a true society that lives in daily conflict of war and instability everyday. I do have overseas properties but not in a war zone. You do need to know the language, culture and customs. Have friends or family there that can keep an eye on the properties for you because government corruption is everywhere. There is nothing passive about it. In a war zone or overseas properties, poverty is rampant, imposters are prevalent, squatters are an issue and oppositional groups in war zones can end up terrorizing anyone and government seizing of your properties can happen anytime. It’s not that it can’t happen you do have to have a daily presence there somehow either yourself or someone you trust that know the area and ways in which things work. I don’t think that is much different that investments in tougher neighborhoods. Everybody needs a place to live but it’s not a remote operation and even if you hire someone that’s risky since corruption is so bad. Unless you got lots of cash to be paying out bribe money which is other common in other countries especially third world and war zones. I think reading about it in a book you have to scrutinize what the author is writing and they are out to give information but also to sell that book you read.
