I've spent a little time in the northwestern area of the state (Pensacola/Fort Walton). However, it wasn't nearly as appealing as the east coast areas. I'm mainly just looking for stability in beach rentals on the east coast and wondering what towns are best suited for this. Thanks!

Thanks for this info. This would be a home that my wife and I would intend to make our primary home decades from now but rent during the interim. With regard to the restrictions on rental, would this be enforced by the town? If I'm buying a stand-alone single-family home for myself, that isn't part of an HOA, is this still true? I'd prefer the place to be close enough to the ocean that daybreak/morning running is possible along the beach. Naturally, this can be done in most places in FL, but the east coast seems best suited for it. I'm really curious if the area of Boca/Palm/Jupiter is preferential to Cocoa/Melbourne/Satelite, or if we should look further north to Jacksonville Beach where another major airport is nearby?

I'm seeking a second beach home in FL that I would rent, but also use when not rented on a weekly/monthly basis. I've traveled for many years to FL and am very familiar with the east coast (Space coast) between Cocoa Beach and Vero Beach. I'm really trying to find a beach area where I could plan on renters, regardless of the economy. Are there any good sources for researching which towns are best suited for this scenario?
