When they moved in the check was written from the womans account

I rented a house to an unmarried couple on a month to month lease (both signed)  The woman passed away and there was heated dispute between the man and the womans daughter over belongings. The man moved out in the middle of the month and the daughter got her mothers belongings removed by the end of the month now the daughter is asking for the security deposit returned to her. My question is if she is entitled to all, half or none of it. It is in Nebraska if that matters. Thanks for the input.
