Thanks for the advice, that sounds totally reasonable. My intent was to bring people doing local deals together, either it is flipping or syndications or multi-family. If @Ali Boone is planning on doing round-2 on out-of-state again we can totally do that and organically grow from there if there is interest.

Hello All,

So I have been talking with Ali on a followup to this meeting and she has convinced me to take the lead on the next one.

Since the last meeting was about out-of-state investing, I thought it would be good to go with a contrasting topic, which is local buy-and-hold investing. This could even be considered as related since we can learn what are the issues with local investing that prompts many people to seek out of state. Low yields and regulations are known but I'm sure they are only the tip of the iceberg. But still there are plenty of local landlords everywhere, what are their secrets?

I am one of those accidental landlords, but still managed to find myself buying another local property last year. Tenants are teaching us regular lessons but still consider myself as a newbie to this. Really interested in hearing from other veterans on what to watch out for. If somebody is really set on local investing, how to get started?

Anybody else up for this? Since many people seemed to be happy about the location and timing of the last event, we'll probably do something very similar (same place, same time). Please post in this thread or PM me if you are interested and we'll take it from there.

Thanks Ali for a great meeting. Though I had to leave early because of another event, the timing and location couldn't have been more convenient for me. Lots of really useful tips, hopefully we can make this a regular meeting in the future.
