@Nick Farrell I'm curious as to why an IRA was recommended when your goal is to start a business. You may want to make sure your advisor is aware of your financial goal. Ask your advisor/cpa what tax liabilities may ve triggered when you are ready to use your IRA funds for your business.

Additionally, use FINRA's Broker Check. I feel Broker Check is under utilized by consumers. You can access it to help make informed choices about brokers and brokerage firms-and it provides easy access to investment adviser information.

°Tells you instantly whether a person or firm is registered, as required by law, to sell securities (stocks, bonds, mutual funds and more), offer investment advice or both.

° Gives you a snapshot of a broker's. employment history, regulatory actions, and investment-related licensing information, arbitrations and complaints.
