I know I'm a little late but I didn't have a great experience with Zeker. They were called Overhere Management before they changed their name to Zeker due to some internal leadership issues. Anyway, the tenants they places were not great. We had to evict one and the second didn't pay rent for a year.

I switched over to GK Houses which is now Evernest and compared to Zeker, the experience has been quite positive so far. They are MUCH more responsive and even managed to recuperate most of the owed rent via landlord/tenant assistance programs. They've placed a tenant just recently so it's too early to tell the quality of the tenant.

Hope this helps!

Please stay away from Morris Invest. I would highly recommend doing a search on BP forum for Morris Invest and you will find plenty of documentation and stories that MI is not to be trusted.

Well you already did something right by coming here first. I recommend staying away from MI if you want to avoid potential headaches.

Just BP and found your post as I am a fellow victim of Morris Invest.  It appears 7 months since your last post.

My Morris property is also in Indy, purchased in December 2018, and still not yet rented.

1. Any updates or resolutions?

2. Do you have a PM company that helped you through the repairs and listing? One or recommendations?

3. Any advice?

Thanks

Nicholas

Hi Nicholas,

To answer your questions:

1. I switched over to Harvey Property Management Group about a year ago. They have taken care of cleaning and renovating the property. It's currently going through section 8 inspections but still has not been rented out yet. Hopefully soon though.

2. I do have a list of PM companies that I can give you in a private message.

3. Send me a message and I can help you get more info.

Best,

Colin Zhu

@Mark Whitted we have similar stories. I started investing out-of-state because of Clayton's podcasts. The big difference is, you guys dodged a bullet and we got hit!

@Jay Hinrichs I agree with you 100%. I'm not entirely sure we've heard the end of the story yet. Our judicial system moves like a large glacier, slow at first but hopefully hard to stop once it gets going.

Thank you @Riyad Kalla . While this has been a "less than ideal" experience for my first time investing out of state, I have learned a great deal and met tons of awesome people along the journey. I'm still dealing with the fallout right now but getting closer to the end of the tunnel every day.

Stay strong, keep your head cool and help each other.

@Jamil Rivera you are already a step ahead of me by coming to BP first and asking around.
