Hi Robert, Great post! Built-ins are a very good way of maximizing space in small apartments. As a kitchen designer, I have designed built-ins for many small spaces. The use of islands or peninsulas with breakfast bars instead of kitchen tables help a small kitchen feel larger while maximizing storage without sacrificing seating. A wall of built-in bookcases or armoires with drawer storage and a Murphy bed can turn a second bedroom into a multi-purpose space like an office or playroom without sacrificing having a bed for the occasional visit from the in-laws (or outlaws, depending on your situation). And, with the exploding popularity of tiny houses, tiny apartments will only continue the trend. Cheers! Colin

@Brendan Griffin

Nice looking flip kitchen! I agree with the previous comments; subway tile is the way to go. The Big Box Stores also usually have really inexpensive Carrara marble tiles in 3 x 6 or 4 x 6 sizes. I also agree with @Brian Pulaski about the accent pieces. There are lots of that come in 12 x 12 matted sheets, and you can get 3-4 12" strips out of one sheet. That too is pretty inexpensive. The only thing about natural stone tile is that you have to seal it with a stone sealer before you grout it. Otherwise, it may take on the color of the grout. Good luck, and looking forward to pics with the backsplash installed!

Hi BiggerPockets Nation,

1) Just confirming, LLC as a business entity vs. S-Corp. I'm in Massachusetts...

2) Thoughts on using LegalZoom to form an LLC?

3) LegalZoom asks you to categorize your business. Real estate and Rental/Leasing are both options, and I will be doing both. Thoughts?

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!

Colin

DHS graduate? What year?

Hi @Ann Bellamy and @Shaun Reilly!

Thank you both for the advice! @Ann BellamyI was excited to hear a local person early in the podcasts! Once I have my proverbial ducks in a row, I will be in touch. Or we may meet at a local REIA event before that...

@Shaun ReillyI look forward to networking with you!

Regards,

Colin
