@Daniel Hyman

Our property manager sent us a w9 but we haven't formed any legal partnership per se. How should we handle this? Do you think we should talk to an attorney before speaking with a CPA?

Just started getting back into RE investing, we bought our first duplex in October and about to close on our next property at the end of this month. Our goal is to buy 2-3 more MFH this year.

A few steps that we are going to try to implement to achieve this will be:

  • Pay ourselves first! We will start re-investing our cash flow every month into a 3 -month lockup at 12% using crypto stablecoins.
  • More meetups, more forums, more deals!
  • Start to look at creative ways to finance properties.

    Hello BP!

    I am an OOS investor partnered with 2 other investors that invest in Maine but we currently reside in California. We bought our first property in October and are about to close on our second property at the end of this month. Now that we have spent most of our capital it is time to consolidate the more boring stuff.

    How should we go about dealing with taxes? Should we get a CPA here in California or talk to someone in Maine? Our properties are under all 3 of our names currently. We do not have an LLC but we do plan on moving them into an LLC in the future.

    How should we go about dealing with an attorney? Should we get an attorney here in California or again talk to someone in Maine? We want to make sure our partnership is concrete and leave no rock unturned.

    I know this has been posted a few times but in older posts it seems somewhat subjective. Any advice would greatly be appreciated! Thank you

    @Gillian Roy Let me know how it works out :) We just started our search earlier this month!
