Hi David,

You bring up a great question. It sounds like in this situation you wouldn't be able to pay for the travel expenses with 401K funds. You would not be able to reimburse yourself. Let me know if you have any more questions David and I'd be happy to help.

Mitch,

I am just throwing the idea out there because it would be another option buying the property. You could purchase the property through a old IRA/401k account and self direct the property. Obviously their are some variables that come into play but if you have some questions feel free to direct message me as I could answer any questions if you chose to go that route. If not good luck with the deal Mitch!

My name is Cody and I am new in the real estate industry. I am currently a associate at Midland IRA a Self-Directed IRA company. I heard about biggerpockets.com through a few people I have met at real estate meetings/groups recently. I am here to learn and network as much as possible since I am a recent graduate with a small network in Chicago. I hope to just meet as many people as possible and also help anyone with any questions on how to buy real estate within your IRA. I am also very open to advice so feel free to let me in on any secrets you have! Thanks everyone!!
