Curious to know how many investors dig into the overall security/crime risks of a property before purchasing. Is this part of your due diligence, do you have a general understanding of the area, or do you just wing it if it looks pretty?

Also, is there added value to contracting this work out to a security professional or company?

Thanks all for the warm welcome and best wishes!

@Joseph Cornwell - thanks for reaching out! Always great to connect with folks in the area! I shot you a message back with my contact info. Look forward to hearing from you and possibly working together in the future.

Hello BP community!

My name is Clinton Vaughn - I'm 27 years old and currently work as a Physical Security Manager for a private financial company headquartered in Ohio. I oversee and manage the security for 1200+ retail locations across the US as well as two corporate office buildings. I have two gorgeous ladies at home, my wife of 5 years and our 1 year old daughter.

I've been no stranger to BP forums and podcasts as I've been here creepin' for a little over a year now. I finally decided it's time to get more engaged in the forum community and possibility spark up some new relationships.

As far as my RE goals and experience - I am officially just starting out in RE investing with a short term goal of obtaining my first buy and hold property in 2018. My wife and I are aggressively paying off student debt and should be debt free in 4 years (someone remind me to call ol' Dave Ramsey to do the 250k in 5 years shout!). Until then I do not plan on obtaining a ton of real estate - possibly 1 property per year which could turn into flips and shorten my timeline here.

With all that said, I'm happy to apart of the BP community here and look forward to meeting new like minded folks in the months/years to come.
