I appoligize for the lack of clarity. We are selling our family business of 38 years. We close April 1st, and must do a 1031 exchange. The realtor recommended a broker that (after speaking to us about our goals) recommended a NNN type investment. He has emailed us listings of various properties for us to look into and evaluate. He believes Dollar General may be a good choice for us.

My brother and I are working stiffs period. I am not saying we are ignorant, but we certainly are ignorant about NNN investments! We have been reading online and trying to educate ourselves but feel like if we could just find an "owner" of this type of investment, we could get information that would help us decide how to approach NNN.

Background: my family has owned and operated a small motel on the oregon coast since 1984. My brother and I know the hospitailty industry. We understand construction, I for the last 8 years have operated a small locksmith business. We would like to find an investent that frees us up from daily running a business so we can flip houses or find other ways to grow our company.

We have passed the go hard date on the sell of the motel, all contingencies have been satisfied. We will have 3.2 million from the sale.

We like the idea of having an investment that brings in cash and requires no or little oversite. NNN sounds good, but perhaps we should stick with what we know? Maybe multi family dwellings?

My brother and I are trying to locate an investor who has or does own a dollar general location. We are selling our property and must do a 1031. We are interested in talking to someone who has experience in this particular investment.
