Looking for a 200k or under place but I do have under 20k in student loans. Any advice on how to approach this goal or maybe know any lenders? Would greatly appreciate it.

Greetings from Texas,

I am a new investor and I have this idea in mind, but I am needing some assistance in my path towards potentially owning a rental property while also attending school out of state.

Long-story short, I am going to school this fall and I had this idea of purchasing a property in the state I go to school (undecided on the school I am attending); and live in it while also renting it out (living rent free while I go to school).
For this to work my buddy also agreed to partner up together to make this possibly happen. However, I am not sure if this is the right approach for me; considering I will be in student loan debt after three years in graduate school.

Please feel free to comment whether or not this would be ideal or if it is way out of reach for someone in my shoes.

Thank you for reading my situation and I am happy to have found this platform!
