Just saw a news report on CNBC saying LL is to stop selling Chinese laminate due to a high level of carcinogens. Does anyone know which model/brand this flooring is? I am wondering if they will reimburse customers to avoid more lawsuits.

I heard Brandon on his BRRR webinar mention a possible strategy of finding leads could be to cold call "Mom and Pop" rental ads and see if they were interested in selling or knew anyone that was interested in selling. I thought this was a brilliant idea! I mentioned this to my partners that we should start dedicating sometime to this strategy and they shot it down because they think that it could be considered soliciting. I do agree with them from the fact that most Craigslist ads will say "do NOT contact me with unsolicited services or offers". I still want to give this a try because even they don't want to sell I still might build out of my network of real estate investors. I am hoping to get other people's opinion on this. Much appreciated!

Is anyone familiar with this company/product? It looks like a start up out of Denver that has MLS/REI info for certain areas.

If your not invested in S&P500 now then wait. In my opinion the market is due for a correction in the next year or so. If you are really interested in getting in the market with an IRA you should wait for the next bear market to be over and front load (put a lot in to benefit from the appreciation) your account as the market goes back up. If you want to get in now then you should try to contribute to an after tax IRA which could be used as a tax benefit also. Most index funds will be exposed to the same securities in the SP500 so if you feel the market is starting to turn you can also switch to cash.

Hi Kim. I wrote an application that scrapes rental data from Craigslist for the area of Philly. It seems to work effective as I just average out the rents using a formula on per BR/BA basis. What area do you live in? I may able to setup a feed for your target area.

Not advising this at all but it looks like you can buy bitcoins with a credit card and then convert the bitcoins into USD. (Just be mindful of the exchange rate.)

This is great stuff. If you are able to have a credit card with a $50k limit wouldn't you be able to get a line of credit for that same amount? I know this is trying to take advantage of the 0% apr but I feel like it would just be easier to use an unsecured line of credit. And if your using these funds for a flip you should really only need access to the funds for only like 9 months max. Just my thoughts.

Creating and holding a note for a rental property/flip through your 401k or SDIRA in which the property is in your name sounds really illegal. Am I missing something here?
