Roth IRA or IRA - depends on your current and future tax bracket. If you foresee your tax bracket increasing in the future, invest in a Roth IRA. If you are near retirement or do not foresee your tax bracket increasing invest in an IRA.

Da’ Bears

I’m happy I don’t have to face him twice a year.

Thank You everyone for the Welcomes.

Ryan, in response to your question - I am in the near west side (ohio and ashland).

I would love to just dive in and get started, however; school debt and my mortgage are leaving me pretty empty at the end of the month. For sombody like myself who can only set aside a small amount of money each month for savings what is the best way to break into RE investing?

No local clubs yet. I'll have to check out your website. When does the WCRT meet?

Hello Bigger Pockets! My name is Carl and I currently reside in Chicago, IL. I stumbled into BP about a month ago and have not been able to pry myself away. The overwhelming amount of RE Investing knowledge displayed on these pages has not only peeked my interest but has motivated me to explore RE Investing as a future business.

A little bit about me:
I currently work full time in the operations accounting department of a large pension fund. Took the job a couple years ago - fresh out of college. Job is just that, it’s a not-so-satisfying, pays-the-bills type of job. Dissatisfied with my position, I enrolled in night classes to eventually earn my MBA, concentrating in Real Estate Financing and Investing. (Not done yet…about 3 classes to go) The classes I’ve taken have most certainly taught me a lot about investing in real estate; from feasibility analysis to due diligence and legal entities and so on... Pretty exciting stuff! Although these classes have provided me with an abundance of useful information, I am always looking to learn more. So any helpful bits of information or book recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thanks to the favorable lending standards in place a few years ago I was able to purchase a highly leveraged piece of property – my primary residence. Other than my primary residence I own no other real estate.

Anyway, I certainly see a future for myself in RE Investing. I look forward to meeting many of you and thank you Joshua for founding this unique site.
