I would like to delve into researching extremely driven and successful businessmen, both inside and outside of the real estate world. Obvious names come to mind of the MOST successful, but I would like your opinion on some maybe lesser known names. Who has been your role model? And if you can, please provide a link to info about your role model.

Are the Carlton Sheets available in a podcast or audiobook form that I can download and use on my iPod?

Hey, thanks for the warm welcomes. Looks like an admin maybe changed my thread title, I made the decision not to include the fact that I am in Iraq in the title because I kida felt it to be vain. But oh well, I appreciate the support. Thanks for offering to help in any way you can, but it definetly is up to me to guide my education in this enourmous and wonderful field. I hope to make friends with you all. By the way, if anybody takes interest, I found this place from the Get Real podcast, one of the nicest podcasts I have listened too (thanks creators).

To preface this, let me say that I have taken college courses on microeconomics, macroeconomics, accounting, and basic business. I have a firm grasp of globalization and how wonderful capitalism is. However, I still feel extreemly uneducated when it comes to things like how the stock market really works, investment strategies, business law, taxes, etc. When I watch a movie like Wall Street, I cannot understand half the terms they are talking about, and I really want to. I want a good understanding of general economics in the real world to base my real estate education on top of. So what I am looking for is a great online resource (besides the forum environment) to help me learn. I can read wikipedia all day long, but I would like something that maybe starts from the beginning and adds advanced concepts as you go. Any ideas?

Hello everybody, its nice to meet you. Like a lot of you, I am new to real estate. I plan on taking the next few months and just delving in to educating myself. I am a US soldier, currently in Iraq, and am also a full time business student. The more education I can add to my plate, the faster this horrible experience goes by. Cheers.
