@Dan M.

That’s great advice I wasn’t aware that all brokerages weren’t created equally. Although it seems silly now that I think about it. Thank you so much for your time and advice. If you have anymore tips or tricks for me I’d love to hear them.

@Mike Baxter

This does help thank you! That’s pretty much what I’ve seen as well. I wish I had the opportunity to just go all in and properly devote my time to building relationships.

@Dan M.

Thank you for the response, I’d really like to eventually completely transition out of my current job. Based on my research it would take on average 6-12 months to establish myself. Does that seem accurate in your market?

I’m currently looking into becoming a real estate agent. I’m curious if being a part time agent is actually feasible? I have a lot of extra free time in the summer with my current job but I work 50-70 hours a week in the winter. Quitting my job with out replacement income isn’t a option since we have four kiddos and I’m the sole provider. I’m Really just looking for some insight from some experienced agents. Thanks in advance!

@Bryan Price

I can tell you what rentals go for in the White Oak area. My family and I rented here for a few years prior to purchasing our first home last year. It does very Neighborhood to Neighborhood though. We were paying $1100 for a 3/2 about 1200 square feet. Our landlord was very nice and quickly fixed any issues we had but was happy to give us back our deposit since they were raising rent for the next tenants. I am now looking to invest in the Longview area as well. I’m primarily looking for small multi family.

Hey guys I’m looking to get into real estate. I’ve been educating myself via books, podcasts and the forums over the last year. I really think I’d like to learn Wholesaling first and transition into buy and hold. If anyone in the East Texas area (Longview/Tyler) needs help with anything putting up bandit signs, bird dogging, door knocking, calling, or just a assistant. Please feel free to contact me. I’m willing to do whatever is necessary to add value. My schedule is currently rather flexible but I am currently working full time.

Who do you use for home insurance in Texas? What are the rates for a single family primary residence?
