@Jay Helms Thank you! That's a great point. I have been trying to form my own mastermind group, but I've been finding it hard to find other like minded people.

@Caleb Heimsoth Are there any meetups that you would recommend in particular? The Triangle area has huge potential for growth in both real estate and technology. If you have time, I'd love to buy you coffee sometime so that we may discuss future growth in the Triangle area.

@Caleb Heimsoth . I haven't paid him a dime, I met him at an entrepreneurial event through NC State.

@Steve Vaughan A lion otter lol. And yes finally getting away from the the rigors of the military is definitely a factor in why I put freedom at the top of the list.

@Steve Vaughan

At this point in my life I'd have to say that I am a 3,2,1,4. I just got out of the military this past August and this new sense of freedom has changed my path forever. I met the mentor at an entrepreneurship meetup held by my university which is why it's strange for him to steer me away from entrepreneurship.

Thank you to everyone who has responded! Your advice is very useful.

FI as in Financial Independence. He had me take a personality test and said that I would fit better as a Financial Analyst or Consultant than as an Entrepreneur.

My "mentor" told me to stop chasing FI and to get a secure job. Should I fire him? What should I do?
