Post: WHOLESALING: If you could start over?

Whadup BiggerPockets!

I have a question for any wholesalers out there!

(note: I'm new to BiggerPockets and real estate investment in general. However, I am fully utilizing this all of the great resources available.  I have been deeply tuned into every podcast, actively participating within the forums, and I am already an avid reader so reading the blog posts might be my favorite learning tool so far)

With that being said here is my million dollar question: If you could start over your real estate investing career, what would you do differently? (preferably wholesalers but I am eager to hear stories from the other type of investors as well, the more the better!)

@Phillip Gonzales  I 100% agree with you Lorenzo! I feel like at a young age one should be pushing forward at full throttle, primarily for 2 reasons.

(1) you can afford to do so, Id rather take massive action and learn from my mistakes now than later and (2) why not? I could fight my way to climb the corporate ladder after college, or continue long term work under an employer, but after reading "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" I realized that was not how I wanted to live my life.

I want to work and hustle for my own money, and build my own path towards financial freedom. I am determined, passionate and see a future that is possible. Thank you for your input and for the words of encouragement!

@Matthew A Rodriguez Matthew thanks for the tip! I just looked up my local REIA meeting and coincidentally they meet within my city (JUST MY LUCK). I plan on doing tons of research and formulating questions before the date so I can get the most out of the monthly meeting.

@Andraise Scott I'm not as familiar with wholesaling. I'm not familiar with alot so I will take your advice and find books on REI before I make major move and I'll start with research on wholesaling. Thanks for the input Andraise!

@Andraise Scott Andraise thank you for the words of encouragement! I haven't looked into my credit score before because (1) I don't even own a credit card (2) I have never bought or borrowed on credit. So im guessing my credit score is low and or nonexistent?

And I will definitely let you know when the lawn service is up and running!

@Josh C. I figured 1% would be too low for a down payment, looks like I'm going to have to save up for a DP before I can actually start nvesting.

Thanks for the input josh!

@Antonio Coleman  Antonio! I'm sure the weather in LA is gorgeous compared to this bi-polar climate on the east coast haha. Thanks for the words of advice. I'm actually already soaking a lot of information from the podcasts, forums and articles. BP is a GREAT resource especially for beginners such as myself.
