Post: Property renovations and rehab

I recently purchased my first investment property (a triplex). One of the tenants is currently being evicted and I needed to do some renovations to the unit. I want to replace the entire carpet throughout the unit. What is the most economical and affordable way to replace the carpet? Is it vinyl flooring, laminate flooring, or should I just put brand new carpet down. The unit is about 1430 sq feet, maybe 1200 sq ft not including kitchen and bathroom. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

For a first time real estate rental property investor, would this quadraplex be a good first purchase. Should I self manage or outsource that task to a third party, feedback is much appreciated!
