Hey Everyone,

I've been thinking of getting my real estate license mainly just for fun. I have a full time corporate job and LOVE learning about RE. I dont think i would ever commit full time to being an agent but I would like to have the license for the added knowledge and then be able to represent myself when it comes time to buying some properties. When I have brought this up to other agents they always discourage it because I think they don't want to lose out on my potential commission. I get that it probably isn't worth it to get the license if you are just trying to save the 3% in fees but I feel like if I'm willing to put in time on my own to learn more about RE and already be studying it as a hobbie, I might as well make it official and get the license. And if I get to save some money in fees in the meantime, great!

When It comes to the fees, would a buyer representing themself really get to save a full 3%? Or are there other fees that you would need to end up paying anyways?

Hey everyone! I live in NYC and have funding ready to put towards a property. I've been looking in a number of out-of-state markets and am currently looking in CT. Would love to connect with someone who has experience there and knows the state well. Let me know!

Thanks!

@Shane Kelly @Remington Lyman @Ashley Cross @Joe Miller @Erik Estrada @Dave Skow @Robin Simon Thanks everyone for your input! It is much appreciated! Unfortunately, our offer wasn't accepted (we only offered 20K over asking rather than 85K as the winning bid did) but this is great info going forward as I keep casting the net!

Thanks again!

Hey everyone! I am currently in the process of getting my first rental property. It is out of state as I live in NYC, also my first property ever as I rent my main dwelling in the city. I've been wanting to get going for a while and it looks like we finally found a property to pull the trigger on.  I connected with one lender so far and want to hear from others and try and get a competitive offer. I should hear back on whether or not the sellers accept our offer today. How long do I have to keep looking at other lenders? Is it already too late? Or could I keep reaching out to others to keep things competitive?

Also, would love any recommendations on lenders in Ohio (Cleveland area).

Thank you all!
