@Aquila Oliveira

Welcome!  There are certainly tons of resources here.  What kind of investing are you looking into?

I'm a newer CT investor myself, but I've joined the CT REIA and made a lot of good connections there. From what I hear, CT can be a tricky state for contract assignment wholesales (because we're an attorney closing state), so the key is to find an attorney who is comfortable with them. Otherwise, wholesales here would need to be a double close, so you'd need transactional financing.

There's certainly plenty of resources here on BP. Welcome!

@Griffin F., good stuff. Thanks for posting the videos.

Do you have your own crew or is it all subs?

Thanks guys.

 @Joseph Baccash I grew up in Middletown but am currently in New Britain. I'd been looking at all the 2- and 3-family homes for sale here and planning the same (FHA 203k, most likely) and even met with a lender specializing in those, but haven't yet found one that I'd want to live in. In the meantime, I've come to realize that after living in Middletown for about 30 years, I ought to start there instead -- I know that town so much better. My goal is to begin with lower investment strategies - wholesaling, subject to, etc with SFR's until I have my feet firmly on the ground and know exactly "what I don't know".

Hi All,

I've read the BP forums for awhile but it's time to jump in and give value back (wherever I can).

My name is Chris Martell and I'm from central CT.  I'm a new investor, but I was a business owner in the past (10 years at the helm of a wonderfully fulfilling company that I started, teaching Martial Arts and Self-Defense).  I sold my business to return to professional Ballroom Dancing, as a teacher, manager, and staff trainer at several studios.  An injury sidelined me and so I took a desk job doing marketing and communications for an incredible design/build firm in high end residential remodeling and new homes.

I say all that in order to tell you a lot about myself, and my approach to business, quickly:

I follow my passions.  I dive deeply into the things I love.  I thrive by doing good work with good people.  I get out of bed every morning to help improve other people's lives.

This is the attitude I'm excited to bring to Real Estate Investing.  I've wanted to jump in for many years, but the time was never "right".  So now I'm jumping in. It's time.

If you're a great person doing great work in real estate in Connecticut, I'd love to connect.  Please tell me how I can help you.

~Chris
