I thought I might share my experience surrounding my first deal.  I've just recently signed the contract for my first rental property.  There was a lot of learning that happened along the way.  I've read Rich Dad Poor Dad, I'm reading the Cashflow Quadrants, and I listen to the BP podcast.  I must say that the ideas and approaches shared in these resources are great primers for approaching and completing your first deal, but there is no substitute for personal experience.  Fear of loss was and is a big hurdle for me to overcome but, I committed myself to making a deal and now that hurdle is a little shorter and a little easier to clear.  I have much to organize and accomplish before this first deal is generating a new income stream, and I have much to learn along the way.  However, my experience thus far has certainly made me more confident and better prepared for deals to come.  I encourage you to do your research and then take action.  Go find your first deal and be better educated as a reward.

I'm also an investor in State College, however I don't know of any clubs.  It's good to see other local investors on here!

Thanks @Jairo Ortega
I should have mentioned that I have a living will today which I obtained from a lawyer. I also do not have many assets at the moment. I'll consider talking with a lawyer regarding my trust and LLC questions.

Good morning, I'm just getting started in REI, and at my brother's recommendation, I've been listening to the BP podcast and I'm reading Rich Dad Poor Dad. I know this is likely a throwback for most people on the forums, but I recently listened to show five which discusses death. I'm planning on creating an LLC with a partner that has experience in REI and the podcast has me thinking about who should be included as members of the LLC. If I were to unexpectedly pass away, should my wife be a member, my kids? I figured it doesn't hurt to ask before creating the LLC. Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any feedback.
