Thank you all for your help! There is definitely some useful information here, I’ve been getting some success on Zillow finally.

Just seems to be a waiting game for new properties to pop up which looks to be everyday. I’m guessing a lot of people are moving out due to covid unemployment so even if it’s not a typical time to be looking for a new place, there is plenty to choose from, however they are disappearing just as fast as they are appearing.

Thanks for your feedback! Sorry if there was confusion- I’m not listing, I’m looking to rent a place.

I thought I would check here because I feel like just by joining this site you care to learn more about real estate and are aware of what it takes to be a good landlord/property manager...which will be light years ahead of my current landlord.

Apologies If this is the wrong place for such a discussion, but I’m 3 weeks from moving without anything locked down.

With regards to actual re investing I’m talking with someone about partnering on a flip so I’m sure I’ll be back for the more standard forum post soon. Thanks again! Chris

Hello all

I joined this site after dealing with a nightmare landlord and continually failing rental property and deciding I wanted to get into property investing as a result.

I was hoping to just deal with living in the current rental until I can save enough to look at buying my own property, but after some more fun with my landlords negligence involving our septic backing up into the basement, I’ve had enough and am moving.

My question is: where do all you landlords and property managers list your rentals for single family homes? I’m looking around Atlanta and can only seem to find huge property management company run properties that all look the same and have bad reviews, not any decent rent-by-owner properties.

Any pointers, resources or help on the subject would be greatly appreciated. Similarly if anyone is currently looking for tenants in and around Atlanta, please message me and I’d love to take a look.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Hey Mitch, thanks for the response.

I am a fan of Buford Highways food and climbing Stone Mountain so i wouldn’t mind excuses to be in between the two.

Well they weren’t exactly deliberate real estate deals for as far as I am aware. With the film industry boom, people were flooding into GA from Los Angeles and elsewhere getting a lot of work and getting paid very well to do it. Of those who have bought houses they are either rehabbing or have had evaluations at 40,000 higher than what they bought for 5-10 years ago.

I have just worked with a guy at my new job who is building his own house in north Georgia and met a lady at work who is working on her first spec build, so I’ve offered help to both for free as long as I can learn something or make some contacts.

Hey Lewis, thanks for the reply! I used to live in the Uk (spent some time in the lovely Bristol as well), I am actually in the USA in Atlanta now.

Hello all! I moved from England to Atl in 2016 to work in the film industry and noticed lots of colleagues buying up properties which peaked my interest!

I have been listening to the podcast like crazy and learning a tonne. I am expecting a bit of cash coming my way at the end of the year, as well as moving into a new, higher paid job, so i figure now would be a good time to look at making some investments. Interested to hear peoples successes/losses and any real estate wisdom they might be able to share.

Also looking to network with other newbies in the area so I have some friends in the same boat!

Hope to hear from everybody soon! have a good sunday!

Chris
