Welcome to the forums Paul! New investor myself. Moving to Richmond next year and will be looking into a buy and hold strategy myself. I think making that jump into your first deal is the scariest part. Good luck and keep us posted!

@Account Closed My wife and I are really looking forward to coming down. Her family is actually from Richmond, so we're moving to be closer to them, and to get out of Northern VA. I actually went to VCU for a few semesters and have spent a good deal of time down there, but I am really looking forward to getting a better feel for the city. Love The Fan and Carytown, but really want to get out and learn more about the area, really get ingrained in the community. So excited to join the RVA movement!

Hi BP, my name is Chris Clark. I am currently an accountant in NoVA for a large homebuilder. My wife and I are planning on moving to Richmond in July 2016. We have a daughter who is almost one now and my mindset and goals of real estate investing have completely changed. As I have really no real estate experience, I am currently reading several books to try to build up knowledge, particularly on long term buy-and-hold income properties. I'm looking to build up long term wealth that can benefit me and my family and eventually be passed down through the generations. I have already reached out to several people in the BP community but I thought I would introduce myself to community! Thanks for all the support and great information provided here by everyone. It's so wonderful to have a place to come to where people are supportive, provide great feedback and seem to be generally interested in promoting this business as a whole.
