@Aaron Montague I see how my post makes it seem like I'd be drilling them with a list of questions but that wasn't my intent. I think I try to find the perfect wording when I ask a question on the Forum. I was thinking in terms of journalists who word questions in such a way to get the most out of their interviewee (as in your second example). And your reply reminds to give them an open dialogue to share their opinions, so thank you!

@Tim G. yes, friendly is guaranteed. But thanks for the reply- I will have to be aware of whether they're tenants or owners.

Hello all!

I am trying to get an intimate idea of what the neighborhood of a potential 4 plex I want to by is like. I plan to talk to the neighbors this weekend with my brother by either approaching them if they're doing something outside or knocking on their doors. This will be my first time doing this and it'll be my first property. I know I'll forget to ask some good questions so I want to make sure I have a comprehensive list of questions to ask. Any ideas on well worded, leading questions to ask about the neighborhood, the people in the area, the local economy, themselves, etc.? And also, are there any etiquette tips that I may not be aware of for these kinds of situations? I'd appreciate any input.

Ah, thank you @Jon Holdman , I wasn't aware of that.

@Justen Ashcraft Great! Even if we get a few responses, I'm still willing to have it. Let's wait a few days for more responses but within a week, I'll set a date.

Hello,

I live in Duluth, GA in Gwinnett County and would love to host a Cash Flow party nearby. If anyone lives in Gwinnett or is willing to drive here, we can set a date, meet with like minded people, have awesome REI conversations and learn more about personal finances. Post back if interested and we can talk more details.

@Paul Timmins Good point about the branding. And saving on utilities would be one of the great benefits

@Rick Baggenstoss Oh and as for making it a discussion at GAREIA, that would be great! I'll actually be going to the monthly meeting in March, it'll be my first time. Are you a member? What do you think of it?

Hi all,

I've been hearing that many renters are not willing to pay more for properties with sustainable appliances and materials, but mainly consider the cost saving benefits in terms of utility use. So my question is, is this trend also the case in Atlanta? It seems there is a growing movement headed towards this direction in Atlanta, but I don't know for sure nor do I have the numbers to back up this claim. Is there a demand for green homes in this area? Is there a local group of REIs that incorporate this into their business model that anyone knows of? Thanks

Hello BP Community,

I'm just starting out and on my new member intro thread, one of the BP members suggested I work for a big investment company to get started and learn how the business really works- which I think is great advice. I have a couple of questions for how this works exactly. Now, I work full-time as a speech-language pathologist and I'll be applying for a part-time acquisitions intern position. So, my questions are: has anyone done something similar to this? How did that work out for you? How did you manage a FT and PT job? How did you decide which company to work for? How do you recommend I tailor my resume towards such a vastly different field? Any and all insights into this would be helpful. Thanks in advance =)
