Welcome to BP! I'm from U. City and have started in investing in St. Louis. Very interesting market -- my advice is, do your homework!

Hi -- Welcome to BP. I'm a new member, too. I'm from University City, MO., though I'm now living in San Francisco-- but I'll be home for the holidays. Anyone know if there will be a BP meetup in St. Louis around Christmas week?

I completely agree with Maggie. I just bought my first duplex in the city, and I was sweating bullets because a few block in either direction can make a difference -- and I grew up in the St. Louis area!  Some neighborhoods are perfectly priced others are just a bit too expensive and some class C's are cheek by jowl with great neighborhoods. This seems to be one area where local knowledge is really needed!

Hi! After months of lurking on the Bigger Pockets forum, I finally bought my first place last month in the city of St. Louis. A brick duplex about 90 years old, very solid. Now I'm looking for No. 2...thinking of Tower Grove or U. City... any thoughts?
