waste of time. basically they submit apps for 0% credit cards on your behalf. then as you come up on the end of the term they roll it over to another 0% card.

best way to raise the wall height would be like one said. adding a small wall onto the top of the existing wall. check with your contractor or local building official as to what is required in your state for strapping of walls and additional stories together. I'm sure there will be hurricane straps required. your also gonna need to assess and check with building to make sure the first floors walls can carry the new 2nd floor. you may need to add some structural to carry the load. your taking what was essentially a finished attic on the Cape and adding the weight of the whole 2nd floor. also as someone else said earlier think about how it's going to look from the outisde. the first floor wall is gonna be pretty tall. Maybe bring it down to a 9 foot wall might look better and still give you nice high ceilings. feel free to message me if you have any additional questions or need help with specifics.

the 1st floor is 2400 sqft? or is it 1200 per floor? a 1200 sqft first floor just guessing without figuring the material maybe 2-3k labor and material. but if your adding a full 2nd floor your gonna have a lot of structural stuff to take into consideration also. and if you have a contractor putting a whole 2nd floor on it, that could probably get worked into the job for a better price since they will already be set up there
