Hello,

I hope everyone is having a great day...I was once active in BP but feel off for several reasons. I've been reading a lot about tax liens and REIT ETFs, any advice or suggestions for a newbie?

Thanks in advance!

It has been over a month since I've actively participated and read anything about investing. I was discouraged when I was not able to get a loan due to some fraud/identity happening pertaining to my credit report (dealing done by family members). Needless to say I was in a slump...however, I decided I may just become a real estate agent to get my mind refocused while tried to rebuild credit or finding a partner. This has been a difficult time and want to know if anyone else has taken the route to be an agent first and if so has it benefited?

@Joseph Graeve, I've been reading and talking with more experienced people than myself. I've set-up a personal meetings to learn from person by offering lunch or coffee. I've also been talking with a real estate broker and trying to see what amount of money I may qualify for. I'm working to having at least two different properties by the close of the year. I'm looking for properties in different price ranges until I get my pre-qual for a loan.

@Taron Jackson, it went smoother than I expected. I connected with several different people by exchanging cards and info. I networked with even more...it started off a bit awkward for me but definitely ended in a high. I will be attending another soon while hopefully getting a deal to work with sooner than later.

@Justin Cooper, that's makes a whole lot of sense and I will take your advice to try to make this meet as smooth as it can go. Definitely will respect individuals time and absorb whatever I can in that small timeframe. Thanks!

Will try to make that event, as I work in the Thornton area (live further south in the DTC). Always looking to meet and network with people in the industry. I'm still very new much appreciate any thing I can learn.

@Connor Swalm, that is really good information and tips. I definitely want to be able to reciprocate something for advice or time allotted. I'm definitely gong in with an open mind and just learn to properly network. Thank you so much!

@Mindy Jensen, thanks for the information and will definitely not get business cards tonight...it might be beneficial for a little bit ahead.

Tonight at 6:00pm I will be attending my first real estate meet-up in Denver, Colorado. To say I'm excited would be an understatement, however, I'm a little nervous as well. I don't know what to expect going into the event or what to take from. The only thing I am sure of is that this is one step closer in the right direction. I think I need to act as a professional and get some inexpensive business cards to hand out for potential networking opportunities to collaborate. I'm definitely taking own and paper but any words of what to expect from a meet-up (I know it varies, but generally speaking).
