Post: Pay off debt before investing?

Hello everyone and thanks for the advise! Update, we went from south of $150k in debt at the end of 2019 to now debt free! We decided to hold off on real estate investing for the time being to pay that debt off.

Now we are saving up for a down payment and closing costs. We have been students nonstop and have viewed thousands of properties either in person of virtually to gain knowledge of the game. 

Very soon we will purchase strategically but with a much more powerful financial position and and education that will pay out dividends in the future.

We have about $60k left in debt. To purchase our first investment property would you pay of the debt first or just go for it?
