Thanks Nathan. I'll look into this. For the time being though, think I'll stick with the old fashioned way of calling the local planning department.

Thank you to all who posted. I wanted to compare appreciation in different location classes in Los Angeles County. For example, how things have appreciated in prime areas like the Westside, versus crappy areas like South LA and Antelope Valley, versus middle-of-the-road areas such as parts of the San Fernando Valley. I figured it out though. You can go on CoStar and look at the history of comps and take averages from there.

Does anyone know where to find statistics on, say average appreciation rates in a given geographical area over a specified period of time?
