@Chase McArthur

It’s been awhile since i last posted this. Working full time in brokerage in Wisconsin.

Would love to connect and hear about your career in brokerage, real estate investing in general.

Thanks everyone for the responses!

1) Dan, I have a preference towards working within multifamily but since I'm still in the interview process at different firms I'm just taking a high-level approach and trying to find real-world examples that I can try and practice based on the real estate textbooks I had bought during my undergrad

2)Scott, same thing... MF is definitely my most preferred asset to work with but I am just excited to work in any asset class in the field.

3) Chase, that's a great point too. I have a friend that works at Crexi / a few others as well. Ten-x has been awesome to learn and I'm enjoying it so far.

Wow... this is amazing! Thank you so much.

Now I just need to be able to decipher all this hahaha but looking forward to practicing underwriting. Thanks Chase!

Hey everyone,

I recently got my brokerage licensing for Illinois and have not yet gotten hired by a brokerage firm (therefore I'm under the assumption I cannot yet access the MLS).

I'm trying to get some experience underwriting and analyzing commercial deals. I've been taking random properties on loopnet and have looked at generate & basic assumptions but am wondering how I can try to get more specific info?

Do I just need to find some broker friends for the time being? Any thoughts/ opinions are welcomed.

First and foremost, Id like to say how excited I am to have found BiggerPockets. Its hard to believe there is such a massive online following of people who are driven to follow their dreams and unlock hidden financial potential.

I am a recent Finance major from Indiana University and recently left a full time role in Las Vegas within Gaming and Hospitality to pursue my "passion" for commercial real estate investing. Being a recent college graduate and overall newbie, I am really focused on finding a solid career within the Midwest in CRE and connecting with those who have similar passions/interests.

I am not necessarily looking for career opportunities (although I would gladly listen to advice/ offers) but am posting to connect with other motivated individuals.

I appreciate you all and look forward to having coffee / striking up a phone conversation soon!

Best,

Charlie
