Thanks for the reply.. 

The trim is pretty rough. Its 5" decorative that has been painted (3 coats apparently) , drips all over it.. i would have to sand all of it.. there will be plaster repair after removing it.. not a concern, I can hang and finish drywall.. I think leaving the trim would lessen the value honestly.. so I'm gonna pull it all, start fresh.. it'll be easier and faster.

I am wondering if it makes sense to remove all of the window and door trim as well as the base moldings before I texture all the walls in my rehab project. If I remove all the trim I would replace it with new trim throughout the house .
