Hey everyone! My name is Cody Dirlam and I am about to graduate college with a BS in Chemical Engineering. During an internship that I had this summer, I ran across a very influential engineer that sparked my interest in Real Estate. I've been reading ever since and just started to get into BP!
Upon graduation, I have a well paying job lined up, and for the first time in my life, I will have an "excess" of money! Woohoo. I plan to take a set portion of my income from each check and put it into an investment account. I am leaning toward buy and hold style investing but am open to suggestions. Any advice on how much I should save up before diving in?
Also, having experienced renting in a college town for the past 4 years, and especially in State College, Pa, I've noticed how difficult it is to find housing. It seems that every house on the market gets rented because there are so many students. I know that area well and feel like it is a good place to start. However, there are many problems that come with renting to college kids in a "party town." Any advice?
