Post: Renting Non-Conforming apt through Section 8 - good idea?

Anyone have experience renting a Non-Conforming triplex unit that meets Code through Section 8?  I don't have much experience dealing with Section 8 and I wonder whether there's a risk of bringing attention to a non-conforming rental to the Section 8 authorities.  Thoughts?

I'm new to real estate investing based in the Denver area. I've recently purchased an investment property in Colorado Springs and looking to expand my portfolio.  In evaluating different potential investment opportunities, increased mortgage rates make it hard to show positive cash flow unless prepared to do huge rehab.  I am considering using a private money lender.  What's the best way to identify a trustworthy private money lender?  How are private money lending deals usually structured?
