There are SO many options to offer online rent collection that I can't figure out which one. I'd like to offer something for a "rent to own" tenant to help build credit as well as one that possibly gives options to use credit card payments for rent. I'm looking into purchasing a 6 plex of one bedrooms to market as furnished student housing and online payment (and option for mom to pay from afar and young tenant to build credit) is appealing to my and my population of tenants. Ideas and experiences pleeeeassssee!!

@William W. Humphrey good idea on the solo 401k...that's been on my radar as an option with starting the S-Corp, especially with these new tax laws!

@George Blower I've also read a bit about the IRA LLC I'm assuming I could keep contributing to the account but then are the contribution limits $5500 still?....but I see where @Carl Fischer is talking about with having two accounts with different tax status.

All in all I appreciate all your input! I've gathered I'm doing the right research and need to pay the accountant and the lawyer what they are worth to structure it according to my goals. Thanks again for your time everyone!

I have a 401k, Roth, and TSP from military service. I still work (but plan on leaving the company where I am vested with my 401k). The Roth is from my previous life and i've made too much to contribute in the past 3-4 years so it's just sitting there. and TSP is quite small at about 13k. I'm planning to s-corp myself any my partner has all his retirement in the stock market. We'd like to take mine out and self direct it for use in real estate. Can I add all three into one account then utilize it that way?
