@Jerome Hanson that is pretty much what my train of thought has been. It definitely provides another facet to my motivation to show her some tangible results.
@Karen Margrave she loves them. She loves fixer upper in particular and their whole brand of remodeling and design. The blogs are a great idea. She enjoys blogs so seeing and reading stories of women who have been successful I think would be a great step in the right direction at the very least to being open to being on board. I've consumed almost all of J Scott's site (now i just need purchase the books ha) and him and his wife as an example of what we could be is another great idea.
@Sharon Vornholt@Jim Young thank you guys for this recommendation. Being able to split out some specific areas in which she might be interested is perfect. She gets overwhelmed when a lot is thrown at her and with my excitement it is slightly possible I may have overloaded her circuits and put unnecessary pressure on her without me even realizing it until now.
@Karen Margrave that's certainly true. I'd really enjoy it if we were able to build something together and maybe that could come but maybe it won't and I need to be ok with that. One of my biggest weaknesses is the tendency to let life happen and be passive rather than going after what I want. (Hence the big change in my thinking and getting into this rei business. I'm a total noob but it doesn't take much understanding and experience to know that if you're standing still you're dying) All that to say I want to pursue my wife and encourage her to get on board without just hoping it does if that makes sense. But i get too that I can't force her and if i obligate her and she does it without any enjoyment then both of us will be miserable.
@James Barnhart thank you James for relaying your experience.
thank you all for the feedback and input and advice. i love this community and how helpful and encouraging most everyone seems to be.
