Congrats on making progress! We are going to remodel our downstairs in Maple Leaf and use it for short term rental. We’re going to self manage so certainly some tax advantages in that regard. Seattle proper is very tenant friendly so we wanted to avoid long term rental and get stuck in a potentially bad situation (current eviction moratorium for example). Either way I think you’ll do great as long as you get excellent tenants and follow the recs from other posts.

Hi Everyone,

We recently purchased a small multifamily unit in Spokane, WA. We would like to upgrade the units and improve the overall property. All units have tenants in place on month-to-month leases and Spokane has an eviction moratorium in place until October. We are hoping to offer cash for keys. Has anyone had success doing this during COVID. Did your PM make the request or a lawyer? Any tips would be appreciated.
